NICTD’s Double Track Project in northwest Indiana will enhance operations and service on its South Shore Line along a 26.6-mile stretch between Michigan City and Gary, involving the construction of a second track with related improvements to signal, power, communications, station, bridge, track, and civil infrastructure. Five stations within the area will also undergo improvements, with revenue service expected to begin in 2024.
